Wesley Chan (born April 27, 1984) is a member of the American filmmaking group, Wong Fu Productions. He is of Chinese descent and speaks Cantonese in addition to English.
Early life[]
Wesley Chan was born into a Chinese-American family. Growing up, he lived in the same neighborhood that Ted did,[1] but they did not know each other until they attended the same college years later. He graduated from Mills High School in 2002, and attended the University of California, San Diego. In 2004, he met Phil and Ted through a visual arts class they took together, and the three began making short films and projects together.[2]
Wesley graduated from Sixth College of UCSD in 2006, and decided to move to Los Angeles with Phil and Ted to continue working together as Wong Fu Productions. In 2012, Wesley returned to UCSD after being invited to make the commencement speech for his former college.
Career[]
After moving to Los Angeles, the three continued to film original shorts and other videos, and uploaded them to their Youtube channel. Aside from working on Wong Fu Productions, they also worked miscellaneous freelance jobs for tv stations, small businesses and weddings.
Shortly after the release of Just a Nice Guy, the group started to design and sell their own brand of shirts. As their popularity and fanbase increased, they began to design stuffed animals, keychains, clothing and other "Nice Guy" apparel.
Wes currently has his design shop Basegray. Also helped Design glasses.

- Wesley has an older brother named Brian, who graduated from MIT and is very talented in folding origami.[3]
- Wes loves the cartoon character Totoro, from Hayao Miyazaki's 1988 film My Neighbor Totoro.
